They are good in places with pets and children and are safe to use in the kitchen.

Solid Strand Bamboo – Click Lock

This type of bamboo floor is recommended in homes or places that have a solid foundation that is free of humidity. This type of floor can shrink in humid areas. It is also known as a floating floor. Anyone who wants a floating floor is recommended to use an engineered version. However, that is not solid. Installation is also simple, compared to other types because of the click lock on each side.

Engineered Strand Bamboo – Click Lock

Anyone who wants to float a hardwood floor should use this type of bamboo flooring. The bamboo floor is hard, beautiful, and easy to install. An engineered floor with a minimum 2mm wired layer is advised for this type of floor. Also, it should be refined at least twice a year.

Engineered Rigid Core Strand Bamboo – Click Lock (SPC Core)

The type of bamboo flooring is an engineered floor with a multi-layered design as any other engineered floor. However, the significant difference comes in as the floor is water-resistant. It will face little to no expansion or contraction. It is durable, stable, and comfortable to the underfoot.

Engineered Strand Bamboo – Tongue & Groove

The type of bamboo floor is similar to the engineered click lock bamboo. Being tongue and groove makes it stable for floating floor installations. However, they have a downside when it comes to installation. One has to manually apply the bead of glue inside the grooves of each plank. Nailing them down or gluing down is also an option.

Classic Bamboo – Tongue & Groove

For those who love modern-looking floors, this is the best option. However, these floors cannot be used where a lot of people pass, like hotel lobbies. They are not very hard and can be compared to red oak. In a short time, they can show some elements of damage.

There are several types of bamboo flooring that people can choose from. Each bamboo floor type has its own pros and cons. They are also best for different specified areas. Before you install a bamboo flooring, it is important to do some research as to which type is best for their use and needs. Using the correct type will extend your flooring’s lifespan and increase your home value if you’re looking to resell in the future.
